Being Engineers

We were being engineers on Friday.

Our task was to improve a handheld plastic spoon catapult by turning it into a freestanding one.

We had to use the Engineering Design Process.

Our teams planned, designed, and tested our models. We then improved them.

The best distance achieved was 16 1/2 ft.

Great job everyone.

Science Fair

It is that time of year again, dun dun duuuunnn ;-)

SCIENCE FAIR

We are working hard at completing our science fair projects. There are 8 different projects in our room this year. From bridges and building to color, hover crafts and submarines we are learning all about the scientific method.

Let's hope we can get them all finished in time. It is down to the wire for us all.

Keep up the hard work everybody.

Thank you for 30 years of space history

"One more satellite takes its place in the sky, the last of many that the shuttle let fly. Magellan, Galileo, Hubble and more have sailed beyond her payload bay doors. They've filled science books and still more to come. The shuttle's legacy will live on when her flying is done."
by astronaut Rex Walheim 7/20/2011
(as the last mini-satellite was release from the Space Shuttle Atlantis before it returns home for the last time on Thursday.)
