More pictures from our field trip

Thank you,

Fossils

We saw some really cool fossils.

Amber is just fossilized tree pitch  (sap)

Just like birds today, dinosaurs swallowed rocks to help break up their food.
Bone Marrow from the Triassic Period

Wow!!! Troodons weren't really that big!

5th graders were almost twice as tall as Troodon.
Reading facts about Troodon was interesting.

Dinosaur Discovery Center

Enjoying learning about dinosaurs, drawing pictures, petting live turtles, touching fossils and even a scavenger hunt.

Teenage T-Rex

Turtles

Our own Nanookasaurus ;-)
Learning a lot about dinosaurs

Thank you for 30 years of space history

"One more satellite takes its place in the sky, the last of many that the shuttle let fly. Magellan, Galileo, Hubble and more have sailed beyond her payload bay doors. They've filled science books and still more to come. The shuttle's legacy will live on when her flying is done."
by astronaut Rex Walheim 7/20/2011
(as the last mini-satellite was release from the Space Shuttle Atlantis before it returns home for the last time on Thursday.)
