So much has changed over the last couple of years. We no longer have our physical classroom, and we have all gone our separate ways.

Today, we are on a new path of discovery. New journeys, new experiences, and new learning are taking place.

Where will our journey lead us? We can't wait to find out.

Summer Time!

Happy Summer Everyone!

After 14 years at Nash, I am here to say goodbye to the students, staff, and families as I move on to a new adventure. 

I hope to join a new district and start at a new school this upcoming school year. 

I have truly enjoyed so many of the opportunities I have experienced all these years as I have gotten to know each group of students and watched them grow. I look forward to hearing all of the wonderful things each of you accomplish in the future. 

To all my former students, remember you have greatness inside you and you will do great things. Never give up or stop learning.

Long Time No See

Wow! It has been a long time since we updated on how things are going & what we have been up to in class.

This past year has been so different. Who would have believed that we would be living through such a time.

We will be working to get everything updated over the summer and be back to sharing as soon as possible. So much has happened & so many changes to tell everyone about.

Extra Credit Opportunity

I am excited to have students using a site called MobyMax in our classroom.  MobyMax is tailored to your child's individual needs. 

The features include:

·         Placement tests that accurately identify your child's strengths and weaknesses

·         Targeted instruction to fill in missing skills

·         Review sessions that ensure that your child retains 100% of what he or she has learned

Best of all, your child can access Moby from anywhere at any time.

3.  Enter: Username and Password

You can sign in as a parent as well by selecting "Parent" from the drop-down menu and entering your child's username and password.  You will be able to monitor your child's progress and even send messages to me.

Our writing this year

We will be working hard each week to learn all about writing.

We will study Narrative, Informational, and Opinion writing.

Each week will focus on only one type of writing. We will get lots of practice on each type and we will become great writers as the year progresses.

Welcome to 5th grade

Welcome to another great 5th grade year.

We are going to be working hard this year to become independent students. This means we will be learning how to do many things for ourselves instead of waiting for someone else to help us or give us the answers.

This will be a great year. It will be hard, but it will be worth it.

Being Engineers

We were being engineers on Friday.

Our task was to improve a handheld plastic spoon catapult by turning it into a freestanding one.

We had to use the Engineering Design Process.

Our teams planned, designed, and tested our models. We then improved them.

The best distance achieved was 16 1/2 ft.
